Lodge Safaris (2 Nights/3 Days)

  • Masai Mara

    Type : Lodge Safari Duration: 2 nights 3 days
    Locations Visited: Masai Mara
    Description: 3 day safari to the Masai Mara. Home to the `big Cats' as well as elephant, buffalo, rhino and the masses of plains game for which the Mara is famous.

    Itinerary

    Day 1

    Leaving Nairobi you drive into and across the base of the Great Rift Valley, passing the extinct voncanoes of Mounts Longonot and Suswa. You drive trough the town of Narok, the central trading area of the Masai people, and out onto the Loita plains, before reaching your lodge in the the Masai Mara. Evening game drive
    Day 2
    A full day spent game driving in the Masai Mara Reserve. Famous for the big cats and the annual migration of wildebeest from the Serengeti, the plains are also home to a vaste number of plains game, elephant, buffalo, rhino, the smaller cats and in the river are hippo and crocodile. The bird life is also prolific.
    Day 3
    After an early morning game drive and breakfast, return to Nairobi.

  • Amboseli National Park

    Type : Lodge Safari Duration: 2 nights 3 days

    Description:Amboseli Game Reserve, for 2 nights. Amboseli National Park lies in Masailand at the base of snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro.

    Itinerary

    Day 1 Nairobi - Amboseli

    You depart in the morning and drive towards the Kenya/Tanzania border, through the border post of Namanga, en route to Amboseli National Park, arriving at your safari lodge in time for lunch. After lunch you are taken on an afternoon game drive to look for elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino, cheetah and a host of plains game.
    Part of Amboseli Park is composed of a dried-up lake bed which, in the shimmering heat, produces fascinating mirages. The lake bed is subject to sporadic floods but permanent watering places for the game are provided by swamps and springs, fed by underground rivers from Kilimanjaro's melting snow. Dinner and overnight are at your lodge.
    Day 2 Amboseli
    A full day in Amboseli for game viewing. You will be taken on an early morning game drive followed by a late breakfast at your lodge and an afternoon game drive to search for some of the game not yet seen.
    Day 3 Amboseli - Nairobi
    You depart after breakfast for your return journey to Nairobi arriving in the city before lunch.

  • Lake Nakuru National Park

    Type : Lodge Safari Duration: 2 nights 3 days
    Locations Visited: Lake Nakuru Natioanl Park
    Description:Safari to Lake Nakuru National Park, the rhino sancturary that is sponsored by Rhino Rescue Trust, where you can see both Black and White rhino. The park is also a famous bird sanctuary, thousands of flamingo live on the lake, and home to the endangered Rotheschild giraffe as well as masses of other animals. Leopard are often sighted in Nakuru park.

    Itinerary

    Day 1 - Lake Nakuru
    You leave Nairobi in the morning and drive down the escarpment to the Rift Valley floor, past Lakes Naivasha and Elementaita to Lake Nakuru National Park. Lake Nakuru is a very shallow strongly alkaline lake 62 km2 in extent. It is set in a picturesque landscape of surrounding woodland and grassland next to Nakuru town. The landscape includes areas of marsh and grasslands alternating with rocky cliffs and outcrops, stretches of acacia woodland and rocky hillsides covered with a Euphorbia forest on the eastern perimeter. Lake Nakuru was first gazetted as a bird sanctuary in 1960 and upgraded to National Park status in 1968. A northern extension was added to the park in 1974 and the lake was designated as a Ramsar site in 1990. The foundation of the parks food chains is the cyanophyte spirulina platensis which can support huge numbers of lesser flamingo. The major attractions include Flamingo (Greater and Lesser) and other birds including a variety of terrestrial birds numbering about 450 species in total. There are 56 different mammal species, including white and black rhinos, Rothschild Giraffe and leopard. Nakuru Park has about 550 different plant species including the unique and largest euphorbia forest in Africa. Afternoon game viewing drive meals and overnight at either Lake Nakuru Lodge   
    Day 2 - Lake Nakuru
    Full day in Lake Nakuru National Park with a morning and afternoon game viewing drives or short excursions to other rift valley lakes. Meals and overnight at the lodge.
    Day 3 - Nairobi
    After breakfast depart for Nairobi arriving in the city by midday.
  • Rift Valley Lakes

    Type : Lodge Safari Duration: 2 nights 3 days

    Description:Into the Great Rift Valley to visit Lakes Baringo, Bogoria, Nakuru, Elementaita and Naivasha. The Great Rift Valley, a massive fracture line in the earth's surface, runs through Kenya from north to south and is marked by a chain of fresh water and soda lakes, interspersed by volcanoes. The scenery travelled through on this safari ranges from the harsh and rugged terrain of Lakes Bogoria and Baringoand incredibly lush and fertile horticultural and agricultural farmland around Lakes Naivasha, Elementaita and Nakuru.

    Itinerary

    Day 1 Nairobi - Baringo
    You leave Nairobi in the morning and drive down the escarpment to the Rift Valley floor, past Lakes Naivasha, Elementaita and Nakuru to Lake Baringo arriving in time for lunch, the afternoon at leisure, dinner and overnight at a lakeshore hotel. Hippo and crocodile abound in this fresh water lake but most visitors are entranced by the multitude of birds with over 400 species having been identified. A boat ride on the lake to view the birdlife can be arranged at your hotel.
    Day 2 Baringo - Rift Valley
    An early morning bird walk is possible and after breakfast you depart for nearby Lake Bogoria. This soda lake, with its shores of hot springs, boiling geysers and steam jets, stark evidence of the volcanic origins of the Rift Valley, lies hidden behind ridge after ridge of barren stony scrubland. Although primarily scenic, Bogoria is by no means devoid of wildlife and birds are plentiful. You later continue your journey to Lake Nakuru National Park for lunch at a lodge followed by an afternoon game drive in the Park, famous for its concentration of often more than a million pink flamingo which seasonally feed on the abundant algae which thrive in its shallow, warm waters. Dinner and overnight are at either Lake Nakuru, Lake Elementaita or Lake Naivasha.
    Day 3 Rift Valley - Nairobi
    After breakfast, a boat ride or bird walk may be possible before you depart for Nairobi arriving in the city by midday.

  • Aberdare National Park

    Type : Lodge Safari Duration: 2 nights 3 days

    Description:Leaving Nairobi after breakfast you travel through picturesque rolling Kikuyu countryside to arrive at the Outspan Hotel in time for lunch. The hotel lies in beautiful gardens offering the occasional glimpse of Mt. Kenya and was the last resting place of Lord Baden Powell (founder of the Boy Scouts). There is a small Museum in his memory in the grounds. After lunch you transfer to the world famous Treetops for a night of floodlit game viewing. The next morning you return to Outspan for breakfast and then a day at leisure enjoying the grounds and the facilities available. These include squash, snooker, fishing, golf and a swimming pool. After breakfast on the third day you return to Nairobi, arriving before lunch at the end of your safari.

    Itinerary

    Day 1
    After breakfast drive north out of Nairobi to arrive at the Outspan Hotel in Nyeri in time for lunch. After lunch transfer to Treetops, the world famous forest lodge where Queen Elizabeth was spending the night when she acceeded to the throne. Overnight on full board.
    Day 2
    Return to the Outspan for breakfast and a day at leisure in this country hotel. Full Board.
    Day 3
    After breakfast drive back to Nairobi, arriving before lunch at the end of your safari.

Lodge Safaris (3 Nights/4 Days)

  • Aberdare / Samburu

    Description:A night at a Treehotel in the Aberdare National Park, and 2 nights in Samburu Game Reserve.This safari offers a unique game viewing experience as wildlife visits the floodlit salt lick and waterhole in front of your treehotel during the night, oblivious to the close proximity of the fascinated guests. You then continue to the rugged and dramatic landscapes of Samburu Game Reserve.

    Itinerary

    Day 1 Nairobi - Treehotel
    You depart in the morning for lunch at your base hotel before your short transfer to your treehotel for an evening of game viewing, dinner and overnight.
    Day 2 Treehotel - Samburu
    After breakfast you continue your drive along the foothills of Mount Kenya and across the Equator before losing altitude as you gently descend into Kenya's vast and arid Northern Frontier District and Samburu Game Reserve. After lunch at your lodge you are taken on an afternoon game drive returning to your lodge at dusk for dinner and overnight.
    Day 3 Samburu
    A full day's game viewing in Samburu with morning and afternoon game drives. Meals and overnight at your lodge or camp.
    Day 4 Samburu - Nairobi
    An early morning game drive is followed by breakfast and you then depart for your return journey to Nairobi

  • Lake Nakuru / Masai Mara

    Type : Lodge Safari Duration: 3 nights 4 days

    Description:Lake Nakuru National Park, in the Great Rift Valley, for a night and then on to the Masai Mara Game reserve for 2 nights. This safari gives you the opportunity to visit one of the Rift Valley lakes - either Lake Nakuru, Naivasha or Elementaita, before continuing to the game filled plains of the Masai Mara.

    Itinerary

    Day 1 Nairobi - Rift Valley
    Drive into the Great Rift Valley for lunch, the afternoon, dinner and overnight at a hotel overlooking one of the beautifully scenic Rift Valley lakes.
    Day 2 Rift Valley - Masai Mara
    Drive across the floor of the Great Rift Valley to the Masai Mara Game Reserve for lunch, an afternoon game drive, dinner and overnight.The grassy plains of the Mara are home to many large herds of herbivores including wildebeest, gazelle, zebra, buffalo, topi, hartebeest, giraffe, eland, elephant, rhino and warthog. Lion, leopard and cheetah are often seen.
    Day 3 Masai Mara
    Morning and afternoon game drives to look for the 'big five' - elephant, buffalo, rhino, leopard and black maned lion. Optional extras include a hot air balloon safari or a morning's flying trip to Lake Victoria to fish for Nile Perch.
    Day 4 Masai Mara - Nairobi
    Depart after breakfast for Nairobi arriving before lunch.

Lodge Safaris (4 Nights/5 Days)

  • Amboseli / Masai Mara

    Type : Lodge Safari Duration: 4 nights 5 days

    Description:A safari to the country of the Masai people. Drive to Amboseli, under majestic Mount Kilimanjaro. Fly to the Masai Mara, the wide open, grassy plains that are famous for the amount and diversity of the game that lives on them. Visit a Masai Manyatta, and witness their unique culture.

    Itinerary

    Day 1

    Drive in the morning to Amboseli National Park, to the Lodge. Game drives in the park where you may expect to see the herds of elephant, both in and out of the swamps, for which the park is noted, as well as plains game and may be some of the cats.
    Day 2
    Full day In Amboseli with game drives. Relax in between in the comfort of your lodge. Perhaps cool off in the swimming pool.
    Day 3
    After breakfast transfer to the airstrip for the flight back to Nairobi. Arrive at Wilson Airport at 0915 hours and depart for Masai Mara with picnic lunch. Arrive in the late afternoon hours before checking in at the lodge you will have a game drive in the park.
    Day 4

    The whole day is spent in the Masai Mara, game viewing, 
    Day 5
    After an early morning game drive and breakfast, drive back to Nairobi

  • Aberdare / Rift Valley / Masai Mara

    Day 1 Nairobi - Treehotel
    You drive in the morning to your base hotel for lunch and then onto your Treehotel for the evening watching game, dinner and overnight.
    Day 2 Treehotel - Rift Valley
    Drive around the northern tip of the Aberdare Mountains and down the escarpment into the Great Rift Valley for lunch, the afternoon to relax, swim, enjoy a boat ride, bird walk or game view, depending upon the lake visited, dinner and overnight.
    Day 3 Rift Valley - Masai Mara
    Your safari continues across the floor of the Great Rift Valley to the Masai Mara Game Reserve for lunch, an afternoon game drive, dinner and overnight. The Mara is one of Kenya's most popular game reserves as most species of game found in the country live on its well-watered plains.
    Day 4 Masai Mara
    Morning and afternoon game drives to look for the 'big five' with meals and overnight at your lodge or camp.
    Day 5 Masai Mara - Nairobi
    Depart after breakfast for Nairobi arriving before lunch.

    Travel in the morning to your base hotel for lunch and on to a Treehotel for an evening of game viewing, dinner and overnight.
    Day 2 Treehotel - Samburu
    Cross the Equator and foothills of Mount Kenya as you drive north to Samburu Game Reserve for lunch, an afternoon game drive, dinner and overnight.
    Day 3 Samburu
    Game viewing to look for the various species of game unique to Kenya's northern parks Beisa oryx, blue-shanked Somali ostrich, Grevy's zebra, reticulated giraffe and long-necked gerenuk. Meals and overnight in Samburu.
    Day 4 Samburu - Mount Kenya
    Drive to Mount Kenya Safari Club, at the base of Mount Kenya, for lunch, the afternoon at leisure to enjoy a game of golf, horseriding or relaxing in the lovely grounds of this prestigous Club. Dinner and overnight at Mount Kenya Safari Club. Please note that the dress code for dinner at Mount Kenya Safari Club is smart casual in the main dining room and tie and jacket for gentlemen and equivalent smart dress for ladies in the Members dining room.
    Day 5 Mount Kenya - Nairobi

    After breakfast return to Nairobi arriving before lunch

    Itinerary

    Day 1: Nairobi
    Arrive in Nairobi where you are met and transferred to your hotel for overnight. 
    Day 2: Masai Mara
    After breakfast, leave Nairobi and drive south to reach game abundant Masai Mara in time for lunch. An afternoon game drive introduces you to the giant herds of plains game and the numerous predators that have made the reserve so famous. Transfer back to your lodge for dinner. Overnight at the lodge.
    Day 3: Masai Mara
    Spend the day game viewing in the Mara where all the Big Five as well as a variety of antelopes and lesser kudu may be observed. Overnight at a Lodge.
    Day 4: Lake Nakuru
    Depart very early and drive to Lake Nakuru Lodge situated on the shores of Lake Nakuru arriving in time for lunch. Afterwards, take an afternoon game drive along the shore where you may spot the elusive leopard, the recently introduced Rotschild\'s giraffe and many species of birds.     Day 5: Amboseli
    This morning after breakfast, drive to Amboseli National Park and the legendary Mt. Kilimanjaro. Home to the proud and brightly painted Masai tribe, the acacia woodlands and grasslands of the park shelter an abundance of game including buffalo, lion, cheetah, hyena, zebra and wildebeest. A game drive follows a lunch in the park. Overnight at Ol Tukai Lodge. 
    Days 6 : Amboseli
    Spend the day game viewing, whiling the hot hours of the day at your lodge. Overnight at Ol Tukai Lodge
    Day 7: Nairobi
    After breakfast, drive or fly back to Nairobi. After lunch at the Carnivore Restaurant transfer to the airport for your homebound flight.

    Itinerary

    Day 1: Arrive at Nairobi airport and transfer to the Mayfair Holiday Inn, Nairobi, for 2 nights Bed & Breakfast. Mayfair Holiday Inn has attractive gardens and 2 swimming pools ideal for families.
    Day 2: Visit the Daphne Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage overlooking Nairobi National Park. As the expert handlers introduce the lively elephant and rhino orphans and feeding time begins, you will have a close encounter with these delightful little creatures which come up to visitors to be stroked. Then on to the nearby Giraffe Centre. From its tree-house balconies you can look these graceful mammals in the eye. The giraffes at the Centre are so at ease with their human visitors that they will happily eat from your hand! Lunch at Karen Blixen Cottages and return to Mayfair Holiday Inn.
    Day 3: Transfer to Nairobi Wilson Airport for the 1 hr flight to Samburu for lunch and 2 nights FB at Samburu Intrepids. Children can take part in the activities of the Adventurers' Club. Afternoon game drive in Samburu Reserve. Dinner and overnight Samburu Intrepids.
    Day 4: Morning and afternoon game drives, and children's activities. Samburu Intrepids,
